During the day the solar panel charges its internal battery giving it the power it needs to light after dark. After dark the light will activate as soon as it detects motion and turns off 25 seconds after motion stops. At dawn the light stops activating and starts charging again ready for the night ahead. Using the light as a solar security light Simply position your light outside and locate the solar panel in an unobstructed location. Using the light as a solar shed light Install your light inside your shed and position the solar panel outside in an unobstructed location (usually on top of your shed). When you enter your shed the light will light up automatically and turn off automatically 25 seconds after you leave. How waterproof is the Solar PIR Utility Light? The solar light is rated IP44 and is designed for outdoor use in locations that offer some cover and aren’t overly exposed. Unlike cheaper imitations of this light, the solar light incorporates key upgrades which enhance waterproofing. These include a rubber collar, a rubber shield behind the back plate and a redesigned solar panel jack which creates a waterproof connection when plugged into the light. How do I install it? The Solar PIR Utility Light is very easy to install in comparison with mains powered security lights. The box contains the light unit a solar panel connected to 4.8m of cable. Before beginning your installation is worth making sure that there is a suitable solar panel location within 4.8m of where you intend to situate your light.
